ഓർക്കുവാൻ ഒരായിരം സ്വപ്‌നങ്ങൾ ഉള്ളൊരു നിറമാർന്ന ജീവിതയാത്രയിൽ എവിടെവെച്ചു നാം കണ്ടതെന്നോർത്തപ്പോൾ ആദ്യമായി നീ ചിരിച്ച മുഖമെൻ മനസ്സിൽവന്നു നിന്റെ ചിരിയും പരിഭവവും നിറഞ്ഞ നിൻ മുഖത്തിൽ വിഷാദത്തിൻ ഗന്ധം ഞാൻ കണ്ടു നേരമാകുമ്പോൾ എല്ലാം ശരിയാകും എന്ന ഒരു വാക്കിനാൽ നിന്റെ വിഷാദത്തെ ഞാൻ ശമിപ്പിച്ചു ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിന്നു ഞാൻ പറയുന്നു മരണം വരെയും ഓർമ്മ മറയും വരെയും മറക്കില്ല ഞാൻ എന്നും നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ എനിക്കുമൊരിടം തരുമെങ്കിൽ

ഉറുമ്പിന്റെ പിറന്നാൾ

 ''അച്ഛന്‍ മറന്നുപോയോ എന്റെ  ബെർത്ത്ഡേ ? അന്ന് ഉത്സവാ... അടിച്ചുപൊളിക്കണ്ടേ?''

അമ്മയോട്, അമ്മൂമ്മയോട്, കൂട്ടുകാരോട്... അവൾ പറഞ്ഞാഘോഷിക്കുന്നതു നൂറുവട്ടം കേട്ടു. ദിവസങ്ങളായി അവളുടെയുള്ളില് ഈ ചിന്തമാത്രം. 

മറ്റാരും കണക്കിലെടുത്തില്ലെങ്കിലും ആ ദിവസം ഇങ്ങു വന്നെങ്കിലെന്നു അവളു കൊതിയൂറുന്നു.  ദിവസം അടുക്കുംതോറും എങ്ങനെ വർണാഭമാക്കണമെന്നു തനിയെയിരുന്നു പ്ലാൻ ചെയ്യുന്നതു ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

''അമ്മയന്നു ജോലിക്കു പോകല്ലേ, അച്ഛനന്ന് എങ്ങും പോകല്ലേ' 

'മഴ കാണല്ലേ.... കാറ്റടിക്കല്ലേ.... കരണ്ട് പോകല്ലേ'

പട്ടിക്കൂടിനരികെ പോയിനിന്നു പറയും- 

'പക്ഷെ, അന്ന് നിനക്കെന്തുവാ വാങ്ങിത്തരേണ്ടെ?'

കേക്കു വാങ്ങാനും പായസമൊരുക്കാനും നാളുകൾക്കുമുമ്പേ അമ്മയെ ശട്ടംകെട്ടി. അമ്മ ഇതൊക്കെ ചെയ്തുതരുമെന്നവൾക്കറിയാം. എങ്കിലും എല്ലാം കേമമാക്കാനുള്ള പദ്ധതികൾ സ്വയം  രൂപപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

'നീ പോ പെണ്ണേയൊന്ന്'

ക്ഷീണിച്ചുവരുന്ന അമ്മയുടെ കീഴെചെന്നു  തൻ്റെ  പ്ലാൻ  വിവരിക്കുമ്പോൾ  ശകാരം കിട്ടും. എന്നാലും പിറകെ നടന്നു പറയും-

'അമ്മേ, ഇനിയെത്ര ദിവസമുണ്ടെന്നാ വിചാരം. കേക്കുവാങ്ങണ്ടേ?.... പായസത്തിന് സേമിയ വാങ്ങണ്ടേ?... മുന്തിരിങ്ങയും കപ്പലണ്ടിയുമൊക്കെ വാങ്ങണ്ടേ?... ദിവസമിങ്ങെത്തിയമ്മേ'

ദിവസമടുക്കും തോറും അച്ഛനേയും അവൾ തറയിൽ നിർത്താറേയില്ല-

''അച്ഛനതൊക്കെ അങ്ങു മറന്നോ?''

''എന്താ മോളേ?'' 

നൂറുകൂട്ടം കാര്യങ്ങളുമായി നെട്ടോട്ടമോടുന്ന അച്ഛനോടാ കിന്നാരം. 

എന്നാലും അച്ഛനതു കേട്ടതായി ഭാവിക്കും.

''ബെർത്ത്ഡേക്ക് എനിക്ക് എന്തുവാ വാങ്ങിത്തരുന്നേ?''

''നോക്കട്ടെ മോളേ.'' അച്ഛൻ തിരക്കിലേക്കുതന്നെ.

അച്ഛന്റെ  ഭ്രാന്തുപിടിച്ച ഓട്ടത്തെപ്പറ്റി അവൾക്കറിയാം. എന്നാലും സദാ  വര്‍ത്തമാനം പറഞ്ഞു കൂടെക്കൂടും. 

യാത്ര പോകുന്ന വഴിക്കു മോളുടെ കിന്നാരവുമായി മൊബൈൽ  ചിലച്ചുകൊണ്ടേയിരിക്കും-

''അച്ഛനിപ്പം എവിടെയാ....? രാത്രിക്കുമുമ്പേ വരണേ..... എനിക്കെന്തോ കൊണ്ടുവരും?''

തറയിൽ ചരിഞ്ഞുകിടന്നു വരക്കുകയോ കഥാപുസ്തകം നെഞ്ചിൽവെച്ചു വായിക്കുകയോ പാട്ടുകേട്ട് ഡാൻസ് കളിക്കുകയോ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറിൽ ഗെയിം കളിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുന്നതിനിടയിലും അച്ഛനോടും അമ്മയോടും അമ്മൂമ്മയോടും അവളു പുതിയ കാര്യങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും. ചേട്ടനോടത്ര സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം പോരാ. ഇഷ്ടങ്ങളൊന്നും  അവൻ വകവച്ചുകൊടുക്കില്ല. നീ പോടീ എന്നു ശകാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും.

മോനെയും മോളെയും കൂട്ടി അച്ഛൻ കാറോടിച്ചു തൃശൂർക്കു യാത്രപോയി. രണ്ടു ദിവസത്തെ പരിപാടിക്കിടയിൽ പേരുകേട്ട തുണിഷോപ്പിലേക്കു കയറി, മോൾക്കു ഫാഷനടുപ്പും  പാവാടയും വാങ്ങി.

വീട്ടിലെത്തി രാത്രിതന്നെ അമ്മയെ അതെടുത്തുകാണിച്ചു. 

പിറ്റേന്നു പകലു മുഴുവന്‍ പുത്തന്തുണിയുടെ ഹാങ്ങ്ഓവറിലായിരുന്നു അവൾ.

തലേദിവസംതന്നെ അമ്മയെ അവളോർമ്മപ്പെടുത്തി- 

''കേക്ക് വാങ്ങണ്ടേ?... പാല് വാങ്ങണ്ടേ? ... സേമിയ... മുന്തിരിങ്ങ... കപ്പലണ്ടി.'' 

അടുത്ത പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു  പോകുമ്പോൾ അവളും കാറിൽ കയറി. 

കേക്ക് ഉൾപ്പടെ ആഘോഷത്തിനുള്ളതെല്ലാം അവൾ വാങ്ങിപ്പിച്ചു. വെക്കേഷൻ കാലമായതു സന്തോഷമായി;  മുഴുവൻ സമയവും ആഘോഷിക്കാം. 

വലിയ പ്ലാനിംഗുകളുമായാണ് രാത്രിയിൽ അവളുറങ്ങാൻ കിടന്നത്.

പിറ്റേന്നു രാവിലെ നേരത്തേ അവളുണർന്നു. 

 പേപ്പർ വാല്യൂവേഷനു കാമ്പിലേക്കു  പോകുന്നതിനുള്ള ധൃതിക്കിടയിൽ അമ്മ മോളോടു പറഞ്ഞു-

''രാവിലെ കുളിച്ചിട്ടു എല്ലാരും കൂടി കേക്കു മുറിക്കണം.  മോളു ആവിശ്യം പോലെ തിന്നോണം''

അയ്യാ... അവളുടെ നാവിൽ വെള്ളമൂറി.

കുളിച്ചു പൗഡറിട്ടു, കരിമഷിപുരട്ടി, മുടിചീകി 'ബോ' വെച്ച് തൃശൂരിൽ നിന്നു വാങ്ങിയ പുത്തനുടുപ്പും പാവാടയുമണിഞ്ഞു അച്ഛന്റെ മുറിയിലേക്കെത്താൻ അവൾക്കു വലിയ താമസം വേണ്ടിവന്നില്ല.

''അച്ഛാ''

മോളുടെ ചിരി അച്ഛൻ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു; ഇന്നവൾക്കു സൗന്ദര്യം കൂടിയതുപോലെ തോന്നി.

അച്ഛനപ്പോൾ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറിൽ തിരക്കിട്ടു ജോലിചെയ്യുകയായിരുന്നു. പല്ലുതേച്ചിട്ടുപോലുമില്ല.

എല്ലാം കഴിഞ്ഞു വരാൻ ഇനിയെത്ര സമയം വേണമെന്നോ. ജോലിയേറെ തീരാൻ കിടക്കുന്നു.

മോളു മുന്നിലിരുന്നു തിരക്കുകൂട്ടുകയാണ്.

''അച്ഛാ.... വാച്ഛാ'' 

കേക്കു മുറിക്കാനാണ്; ടിവി പരിപാടികളിൽ കാണാറുള്ള ബെർത്ത്ഡേ ചടങ്ങുകളാണ് അവളിപ്പോൾ ആവാഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു.

തൻ്റെ ഒമ്പതാം ബെർത്ത്ഡേ ആഘോഷത്തിനു അടുത്ത നിമിഷംതന്നെ കേക്കുമുറിച്ചു തുടക്കം കുറിക്കണമെന്നു അവള് സ്വപ്നം കാണുന്നു. അതിൻ്റെ ആഹ്‌ളാദത്തിനാലാണ് ആ മുഖത്തു കൂടുതൽ സൗന്ദര്യം  വിരിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നത്.

ഇതൊക്കെ അച്ഛനറിയാവുന്നതാണ്.

''വാ അച്ഛാ''

അവളു തിരക്കുകൂട്ടുന്നു.

''വരുന്നു മോളേ''

അച്ഛനങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞതിനിപ്പോ കണക്കില്ല.

''അച്ഛാ'' അവൾ ചിണുങ്ങിത്തുടങ്ങി.

അച്ഛനപ്പോൾ ജോലിയുടെ ടെൻഷൻ; ചെറിയ ദേഷ്യം പുറത്തേക്കു തെറിച്ചു.

''കുളിച്ചതുപോലുമില്ല; ഇനിയെപ്പഴാ'' അവള് അസ്വസ്ഥതപ്പെട്ടു.

''എടാ മോനേ, മോളുടെ കേക്ക് ഒന്നു മുറിക്കെടാ, നീയൊന്നു കുളിച്ചേ''

''ഞാൻ കളിക്കാൻ പോകുവാ'' അവൻ  ബാറ്റ് കൈയിലെടുത്തുകഴിഞ്ഞു.

പുറത്തു ഗേറ്റിനടുത്തു അവന്റെ ചങ്ങാതിമാർ.

''ചേട്ടാ, ഒന്നു നിക്ക്" അവളു കൊഞ്ചി.

''നീ പോടീ''

അവളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുമനസ്സു പിടഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി. ''അമ്മൂമ്മ എവിടെ?''

''കിടക്കുവാ, വയ്യാന്ന്''

മോളെയുംകൂട്ടി അച്ഛൻ അടുക്കളേലേക്കു പോയി. കേക്കിരുന്ന കവർ ഡൈനിംഗ് ടേബിളിലുണ്ട്.  

''വൈകിട്ടു മുറിക്കാമെടീ മോളേ... അമ്മ വരട്ടെ''

അച്ഛന്റെ അഭിപ്രായത്തോട് അവൾക്കു പൊരുത്തപ്പെടാനായില്ല.

കേക്കിന്റെ മധുരിക്കുന്ന മണം അവിടമാകെ പരന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്.

അവൾ സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടത്....ടിവിയിൽ കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ളത്... 

അവളുടെ മുഖത്തപ്പോൾ കറുത്ത കാറ്റുവീശി. കണ്ണുകളിൽ മഴപെയ്തു.

പെട്ടന്നവൾ അകത്തെ മുറിയിലേക്ക് ഒരോട്ടം; പുതിയ വേഷത്തിൽ അവൾ കട്ടിലിൽ കിടന്നുരുണ്ടു. 

കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറിലേക്കുതന്നെ അച്ഛൻ മടങ്ങി. എപ്പോഴോ പുതിയ ഡ്രസ്സിലാത്തെ  മോൾ ഓഫീസിലേക്കുവന്നു.

''അച്ഛൻ എന്റെ  ബെർത്ത്ഡേ കൊളമാക്കി.'' ആ സങ്കടവർത്തമാനം അച്ഛനെ പൊള്ളിച്ചു.

വൈകിട്ടു അമ്മക്കൂടി വന്നിട്ട് അവളുടെ മോഹം സാധിച്ചു കൊടുക്കാമെന്നു അച്ഛൻ സമാധാനിച്ചു. 

പിന്നെ അവൾ ഓഫീസ് മുറി വിട്ടുപോയില്ല; അച്ഛന്റെ കൈയിൽനിന്നു മൗസ് വാങ്ങി, കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറിൽ ഫീഡു ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള  പാട്ടുകളിട്ടു ഡാൻസു ചെയ്തുതുടങ്ങി.

വൈകുന്നേരം തനിക്കായി ഒരുങ്ങി വരുന്നുണ്ടെന്നു ആശ്വസിച്ചിട്ടാവണം മോളുടെ ഈ മാറ്റമെന്ന് അച്ഛനോർത്തു സമാധാനിച്ചു.

അച്ഛന്റെ  മൊബൈലിൽ നിന്നും പലവട്ടം അവള് അമ്മയെ വിളിച്ചു..

''നേരത്തേ വരണേമ്മേ... കേക്കു മുറിച്ചില്ല.'' 

വാല്യുവേഷൻ ക്യാമ്പിലെ തിരക്കിൽനിന്നും അമ്മയും ചിലപ്പോൾ അമ്മയും ചിലപ്പോൾ അവൾക്കുവേണ്ടി വിളിച്ചു.  

അമ്മൂമ്മ രാവിലെ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടും പോയിക്കണ്ടില്ലെന്നു അച്ഛനോർത്ത്, ഉച്ചയ്ക്കുശേഷം അക്കാര്യം മോളു സൂചിപ്പിച്ചപ്പോഴാണ്.

വേഗം അപ്പുറത്തേക്കു പോയി അമ്മൂമ്മയെ നോക്കി. രാവിലെ ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് കാറിൽ കോണ്ടുപോകമെന്നോർത്തു.  

മോളുടെ അമ്മവന്നു ഇക്കാര്യത്തിൽ ശണ്ഠകൂടുമെന്നുറപ്പായി.

വൈകിട്ട് മോളുടെ അമ്മ വന്നു. 

ബാറ്റുമായി സൈക്കിളിൽ കയറിപ്പോയ ചേട്ടൻ അപ്പോഴും വീടണഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല. അച്ഛന്റെ ജോലിത്തിരക്കിനും ശമനമുണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല.

അമ്മ ഗേറ്റുകടന്നുവരുന്നതും നോക്കി വൈകുംമുമ്പുതന്നെ മോൾ സിറ്റൗട്ടിൽ സ്ഥാനം പിടിച്ചിരുന്നു.

അമ്മ വന്നപ്പോൾ അവൾ പതിവിലും  കവിഞ്ഞ സന്തോഷം കാണിച്ചു.

''നീ കേക്ക് തിന്നില്ലേ?''

''ഇല്ലമ്മേ.'' 

അകത്തേക്കുപോയ അമ്മയെ പിന്നീട് പുറത്തേക്കു കണ്ടതേയില്ല. 

അമ്മൂമ്മയുടെ അവസ്ഥകണ്ട് അമ്മയ്ക്കു കലശലായ ദേഷ്യം.

ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പോകാത്തതിലുള്ള ശകാരം.

പിന്നെ മൗനത്തിലേക്ക്! അച്ഛനോടും കമാന്നു മിണ്ടിയില്ല.

ചേട്ടൻ വിയർത്തുവന്നു. 

അമ്മയുടെ ദേഷ്യം കണ്ടു ചേട്ടനും മൗനത്തിൽ.

ആകെയൊരു നിശബ്ദത വീട്ടിനുള്ളിൽ. 

മോളുടെ ഉത്സാഹം കുറഞ്ഞു.

''അച്ഛനൊന്ന് അമ്മയോടു പറയച്ഛ .''

അവൾ പലവട്ടം അച്ഛന്റെയടുത്തു  ശുപാർശ ചെയ്തു. 

അമ്മ ആരോടും മിണ്ടാതെ പായസത്തിനുള്ള ഒരുക്കം തുടങ്ങി.

സന്ധ്യയായി... പിന്നെ രാത്രിയായി... 

ആരും മിണ്ടിയില്ല. ഹാപ്പി ബെർത്ത്ഡേ  പാടിയില്ല. കേക്കു മുറിച്ചില്ല. പായസം കുടിച്ചില്ല.

രാത്രി ഏറെനേരം അവൾ അങ്ങോട്ടുമിങ്ങോട്ടും നടന്നു സമയം കഴിച്ചു. 

പിന്നെ ഉറങ്ങാൻ കിടന്നു. പിറ്റേന്നു അതിരാവിലെയുണർന്ന അച്ഛന്‍ വിചിത്രമായ  ഒരു കാഴ്ച കണ്ടു!

അടുക്കളഭാഗത്തെ തറയിലൂടെ ഉറമ്പുകളുടെ വലിയ നിര.... 

എല്ലാ ഉറുമ്പുകളുടെയും ചുണ്ടിൽ കേക്കിന്റെ ചെറിയ തുണ്ടുകൾ.....! 

ഡൈനിംഗ് ടെബിളിൽ നിന്നു തുടങ്ങുന്ന ഉറുമ്പുകളുടെ മാർച്ചുപാസ്റ്റിങ്ങിൽ ഒരുറുമ്പിനെ അയാൾ പ്രത്യേകം ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു- 

പുത്തനുടുപ്പും പാവാടയുമണിഞ്ഞു കേക്കിന്റെ കഷ്ണം വായില്‍ തിരുക്കി  ഇഴഞ്ഞിഴത്തിന്റെ മോളും....!

പ്രവാസി

അമ്പലവാസി, അയല്‍വാസി, ദരിദ്രവാസി... പ്രവാസി!!!  കേരളം എന്ന ഇട്ടാവട്ടത്തില്‍ എത്ര എത്ര വാസികള്‍.

ഏതൊരു ചെറുപ്പക്കാരനെയും പോലെ ഗള്‍ഫ് മോഹം

എന്നിലുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഗള്‍ഫില്‍ പോകണം, അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന പ്രവാസിയാകണം, കോടികള്‍

സമ്പാദിക്കണം, അങ്ങനെ സമ്പാദിച്ച് സമ്പാദിച്ച് ഒരു പണക്കാരനാകണം, ബസ്സ് വാങ്ങണം,

ലോറി വാങ്ങണം, ആനേ വാങ്ങണം...

ഹോ എത്രയെത്ര മോഹങ്ങള്‍.

എന്നാല്‍ ഒടുവില്‍ ബാംഗ്ലൂര്‍ എന്ന ദേശത്ത്

ഒരു ചെറിയ സോഫ്റ്റ് വെയര്‍ കമ്പനിയില്‍ എന്‍ജിനീയര്‍ എന്നറിയപ്പെടാനായിരുന്നു

എനിക്ക് വിധി.

അങ്ങനെയിരിക്കെയാണു എന്നിലെ ഗള്‍ഫ് മോഹം

പിന്നെയും തല പൊക്കിയത്, കൂടെയൊരു ചോദ്യവും.. ഏത് രാജ്യത്ത് പോകണം?

സൌദി ഈസ് എ ഡേര്‍ട്ടി കണ്ട്രി..

അവിടെ കള്ളു കുടിച്ചാല്‍ തല വെട്ടുമത്രേ!!!

ദുബൈ ഈസ് എ നോട്ടി കണ്ട്രി..

അവിടെ കാശു പോകാന്‍ നൂറു

വഴിയുണ്ടത്രേ!!! പിന്നെയോ?

ആ ചോദ്യത്തിനുള്ള ഉത്തരാമായിരുന്നു ഖത്തര്‍.

സൌദിയടെ സ്ട്രിക്റ്റും, ദുബൈയുടെ ഫിറ്റുംഉള്ള കണ്ട്രി.

അങ്ങനെ അടിയന്‍ അവിടേക്ക് പോകാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചു.

എന്നാല്‍ അതത്ര എളുപ്പമായിരുന്നില്ല, ആദ്യം പാസ്പോര്‍ട്ട് വേണം, പിന്നെ വിസ വേണം, അതേ പോലെ അവിടൊരു ജോലി വേണം...

എത്രയെത്ര കടമ്പകള്‍!!!

ഒടുവില്‍ ബാല്യകാല സുഹൃത്തും, ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഖത്തറില്‍ അറബിയുടെ കീഴില്‍ ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നവനുമായ ശേഖര്‍ എന്നെ സഹായിച്ചു. അവന്റെ കമ്പനിയിലെ ഐ.ടി. മാനേജരായി എനിക്കൊരു ജോലി തരപ്പെടുത്തി, തരക്കേടില്ലാത്ത

ശമ്പളവും. അന്നു തന്നെ കമ്പനിയില്‍ രാജിക്കത്ത് നല്‍കി. ഓ സോറി...

ഐ.ടി. കമ്പനിയില്‍ രാജികത്ത് നല്‍കിയെന്ന് പറയാന്‍ പാടില്ല, "പേപ്പര്‍ ഇട്ടു" എന്നാണു ശരിയായ പ്രയോഗം. അതായത് 'സാര്‍, ഈ

കമ്പനിയിലെ സേവനം എന്നെ ഉയരങ്ങളിലെത്തിച്ചു എന്നും, ഇനി ഉയരാന്‍

സ്ഥലമില്ലാത്തതിനാല്‍ വിശ്രമ ജീവിതം ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നുവെന്നും' കമ്പനിയെ ബോധിപ്പിച്ച് കൊണ്ടുള്ള ഒരു മെയില്‍ അയക്കുക എന്ന പ്രോസസ്സ്.

ഇങ്ങനെ പേപ്പര്‍ ഇട്ടു കഴിഞ്ഞാല്‍ പിന്നെ മൂന്ന് കടമ്പയുണ്ട്...

ഒന്നാം കടമ്പ, നോട്ടീസ് പിരീഡ്:

അതായത്, നമ്മള്‍ ഇത്ര നാളും ചെയ്ത ജോലി

മറ്റുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് പകര്‍ന്ന് കൊടുക്കാന്‍ വേണ്ടി കമ്പനിയെ ഒരു മാസം കൂടി സേവിക്കണം.

എന്നാല്‍ ഞാന്‍ പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് പണിയൊന്നും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലെന്ന് കമ്പനിക്ക്

അറിയാവുന്നതിനാലും, ഞെക്കിപ്പിഴിഞ്ഞാല്‍ പോലും എന്നില്‍ നിന്ന് ഒരു വിവരവും

ലഭിക്കാന്‍ വഴിയില്ലെന്ന് കമ്പനിക്ക് ബോധ്യം ഉള്ളതിനാലും എന്റെ നോട്ടീസ് പിരീഡ്

അവര്‍ 3 ദിവസമായി വെട്ടിച്ചുരുക്കി.ഒരു പക്ഷേ വെറുതെ ഞാന്‍ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍ ഓണ്‍

ചെയ്ത് ഒരു മാസത്തെ കറന്റ് കളയുന്നതിലും നല്ലതിതാണെന്ന് അവര്‍ ചിന്തിച്ച്

കാണും.

രണ്ടാം കടമ്പ, ക്ലിയറന്‍സ്

സര്‍ട്ടിഫിക്കേറ്റ്: ഇത് പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് ഒന്നുമല്ല, എല്ലാ

ഡിപ്പാര്‍ട്ട്‌മെന്റിലും നടന്ന് ഞാനൊന്നും തല്ലിപ്പൊട്ടിക്കുകയോ, നശിപ്പിക്കുകയോ

ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലെന്ന് ഒപ്പിട്ട് വാങ്ങണം. ഡെവലപ്മെന്റ്, ഫിനാന്സ്, എച്ച്.ആര്‍.,

ഒടുവില്‍ അങ്ങനെ ലൈബ്രറിയിലെത്തി...

ലൈബ്രേറിയന്റെ മുഖത്തൊരു ചോദ്യ ഭാവം:

"എന്താ?"

"ക്ലിയറന്‍സ് സര്‍ട്ടിഫിക്കേറ്റില്‍ ഒരൊപ്പ് വേണം"

"ആരാ?"

"ഞാന്‍ മനു, ഇവിടത്തെ എംപ്ലോയിയാ"

ഒപ്പിടാന്‍ പേപ്പര്‍ വാങ്ങിയപ്പോള്‍ ഒരു

പുച്ഛ സ്വരത്തില്‍ അയാള്‍ പറഞ്ഞു:

"ഇത്ര നാളും ഇങ്ങോട്ടൊന്നും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലാലോ"

അതായത് എഴുത്തും വായനയും അറിയാത്ത ഒരു ഏഴാം കൂലിയാണു ഞാനെന്ന് വ്യാംഗ്യാര്‍ത്ഥം. ഒപ്പിട്ട് പേപ്പര്‍ കയ്യില്‍ കിട്ടുന്നത് വരെ ഒന്നും മിണ്ടിയില്ല, പേപര്‍ കിട്ടിയപ്പോള്‍ പതിയെ ചോതിച്ചു:

"സാര്‍ എന്താണാവോ ഇവിടിരിക്കുന്നത്?"

"ലൈബ്രേറിയന്‍ ലൈബ്രറിയിലല്ലേ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടത്?"

അയാളുടെ മറു ചോദ്യം. ഇത് കേട്ടതും, ടേബിളില്‍ കിടക്കുന്ന നാലു

പേപ്പറിലും, അലമാരയിലിരിക്കുന്ന പത്ത് ബുക്കിലും നോക്കിയിട്ട്, മുഖത്ത് മാക്സിമം

പുച്ഛ ഭാവം വരുത്തിയിട്ട് ഞാന്‍ ചോദിച്ചു: "അപ്പോ ഇതിനാണു ലൈബ്രറി എന്ന് പറയുന്നത്, അല്ലേ?:

ഠിം!!!! 

ലബ്രേറിയന്റെ മുഖത്ത് ചോരമയമില്ല.

മൂന്നാം കടമ്പ, എക്സിറ്റ്

ഇന്റര്‍വ്യൂ:

ഏതൊരു എംപ്ലോയിയും കമ്പനി വിട്ടു പോകുന്നതിനു

മുമ്പേ, അവരെ അവിടെ തന്നെ നില നിര്‍ത്താന്‍ വല്ല വഴിയുമുണ്ടോന്ന് അറിയാനുല്ല അവസാന ശ്രമം. എച്ച്.ആര്‍ മേഡവും,പ്രൊജക്റ്റ് മാനേജറും കൂടിയാണിത് സാധാരണ ചെയ്യുനത്.

"എന്താണു മനു ഈ ജോലി വിടാന്‍ കാരണം?"

ഇത് വളരെ അര്‍ത്ഥ രഹിതമായ ചോദ്യമാണ്.

കാരണം ചോദിക്കുന്ന അവര്‍ക്കും, ഉത്തരം പറയാനിരിക്കുന്ന എംപ്ലോയിക്കും, വളരെ വ്യക്തമായി അറിയാം, വേറെ നല്ല ജോലിയും നല്ല

ശമ്പളവും കിട്ടിയിട്ടാണവന്‍ പോകുനതെന്ന്. എന്നിട്ടും ഇപ്പോഴും അതേ

ചോദ്യം.. എങ്കിലും സത്യം മറച്ച് വെച്ച് ഞാന്‍ മറുപടി നല്‍കി:

"ഇനി നാട്ടില്‍ പോയി കൃഷി ചെയ്ത്

ജീവിക്കണമെന്നാണു ആഗ്രഹം"

എച്ച്.ആറിന്റെ കണ്ണു തള്ളി...

അയ്യോ, ഇത്രേം പഠിച്ചിട്ട് കൃഷി ചെയ്യുകാന്ന്

വെച്ചാല്‍....?

:എന്റെ കഴിവുകളൊക്കെ ഇനി ആ മേഖലയില്‍

പ്രയോഗിക്കണമെന്നാണെന്റെ ലക്ഷ്യം"

"വാട്ട് യൂ മീന്‍?"

"ഐ മീന്‍, കോഡിംഗിലൂടെ ഞാറു നടുക, ആന്റി

കുറച്ച് നേരം തൃശൂര്‍ പൂരം കഴിഞ്ഞ നിശ്ശബ്ദത.

എച്ച്.ആര്‍ മേഡത്തിനും, പ്രൊജക്റ്റ്‌ മാനേജര്‍ക്കും അനക്കമില്ല, ഒരു കാര്യവുമില്ലാതെ ആ ചോദ്യം എന്നോട് ചോദിച്ച

നിമിഷത്തെ അവര്‍ ശപിക്കുകയാണെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. ഒടുവില്‍ കുറേ നേരത്തെ

നിശ്ശബ്ദതക്ക് ശേഷം പ്രൊജക്റ്റ് മാനേജര്‍ പതുക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു,

മനു ഈ കമ്പനിയില്‍ നിന്ന് പോകുന്നതില്‍

ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് വളരേ വിഷമമുണ്ട്, ബികോസ്.. ബികോസ്?

"ബികോസ് യൂ ആര്‍ ആന്‍ അസറ്റ്"

ഞാനൊരു അസത്താണെന്ന്!!!

അതേ, ഞാനൊരു അസത്താണ്.

ആ അസത്തിതാ ഗള്‍ഫിലേക്ക്...

വിമാനത്താവളത്തില്‍ സ്വീകരിക്കാന്‍

ശേഖറുണ്ടായിരുന്നു, അവനോടൊപ്പം റൂമിലേക്ക്. അന്നവിടെ അന്തിയുറങ്ങി, പിറ്റേ ദിവസം

രാവിലെ ഓഫീസിലേക്ക്... ജോലിക്ക് കേരുന്നതിനു മുമ്പേ അറബിയുടെ

അനുഗ്രഹം വാങ്ങുന്നതിനായി അങ്ങേരുടെ റൂമില്‍ കയറി. ഈ അറബി, അറബീന്ന് പറയുന്ന സാധനം നമ്മള്‍ കരുതുന്നത് പോലൊന്നുമല്ല, അവരും മനുഷ്യരാ. നീണ്ട വെള്ള നിറത്തിലുള്ള മാക്സിയുമിട്ട്, ഒരു ഊശാന്‍ താടിയും വെച്ച്, ബബിള്‍ഗവും ചവച്ചോണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന അറബിയെ കണ്ടാല്‍ പാത്തുമ്മാടെ ആട് കസേരയില്‍ കേറിയിരിക്കുവാണോന്ന് തോന്നിപ്പോകും.

എന്തായാലും ഫസ്റ്റ് ഇംപ്രഷന്‍ ഈസ് ദ ബെസ്റ്റ്

ഇംപ്രഷന്‍ എന്ന് മനസ്സിലോര്‍ത്ത് ഞാന്‍ പതിയേ പറഞ്ഞു,

"ഗുഡ് മോണിങ്ങ് സാര്‍"

അറബി എന്നെയൊന്ന് നോക്കി, കണ്ണു കൊണ്ട്

എന്നോട് ഇരിക്കന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. എന്റെ സെര്‍ട്ടിഫിക്കെറ്റെല്ലാം നോക്കിയിട്ട് അറബി

ചോദിച്ചു:

"ദുയുനോ ഇന്താനെറ്റ്?"

കര്‍ത്താവേ!!!

ഇതെന്ത് ഭാഷ??

അന്തം വിട്ട് നില്‍ക്കുന്ന എന്നോട് അങ്ങേര്‍

വീണ്ടും ചോദിച്ചു:

"ദൂയുനോ തൈപിങ്?"

ഇതിങ്ങനെ വിട്ടാല്‍ ശരിയാവില്ല, എനിക്ക് അറബി

അറിയില്ലെന്ന് ഇങ്ങേരോട് പറഞ്ഞില്ലെങ്കില്‍ മൊത്തത്തില്‍ കുളമാകും. അതിനാല്‍

രണ്ടും കല്‍പിച്ച് ഞാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു:

"ഐ ഡോണ്ട് നോ അറബിക്, പ്ളീസ് സ്പീക് ഇന്‍

ഇംഗ്ളീഷ്"

എന്റെ പൊന്നു സുല്‍ത്താനേ, എനിക്ക് അറബി

അറിയില്ലാ, ദയവായി ഇംഗ്ളീഷില്‍ സംസാരിക്കൂ..

അത് കേട്ടതോടെ അങ്ങേര്‍ ചാടിയെഴുന്നേറ്റ്

കഥകളിക്കാര്‍ കാട്ടുന്ന പോലെ ആംഗ്യ വിക്ഷേപത്തോടെ ഭയങ്കര ബഹളം. അമ്പരന്ന് പോയ

ഞാന്‍ കണ്ണാടി ചില്ലിലൂടെ പുറതേക്ക് നോക്കി....

പൊന്നു ശേഖറേ, ഓടി വാടാ..

രക്ഷിക്കെടാ....

അപകടം മണത്ത ശേഖര്‍ അകത്തേക്ക് കുതിച്ച് വന്ന്, അറബിയോടെന്തൊക്കെയോ പറഞ്ഞ് ആശ്വസിപ്പിച്ച് എന്നേയും കൊണ്ട് പുറത്തു ചാടി.

ആക്ച്വലി എന്താ സംഭവിച്ചത്?

എന്തിനാ അറബി ചൂടായത്??

ഓഫീസില്‍ എന്റെ കസേരയില്‍ പോയിരുന്നിട്ടും

എനിക്കൊരു പിടിയും കിട്ടുന്നില്ല. മറുവശത്ത് ഇരിക്കുന്ന ശേഖറാണെങ്കില്‍

 ഞാനെന്തോ മഹാ അപരാധം ചെയ്ത പോലെ എന്നെ ഇടക്കിടെ നോക്കുന്നുമുണ്ട്. ഒടുവില്‍

ശേഖര്‍ ഒന്ന് തണുത്തെന്ന് തോന്നിയപ്പോള്‍ ഞാന്‍ അടുത്ത് ചെന്ന്

ചോദിച്ചു:

"എന്താ അളിയാ പറ്റിയത്?"

"നിനക്ക് ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റ് അറിയില്ലേ?" അവന്റെ

മറു ചോദ്യം.

"അറിയാം".

"പിന്നെ 'ഡൂ യൂനോ ഇന്റെര്‍നെറ്റ്' എന്ന് അറബി

ചോദിച്ചപ്പോ നീയെന്താ മിണ്ടാഞ്ഞത്?"

ദൈവമേ, ഈ "ഫസ്റ്റ് ഇംപ്രഷന്‍ ഈസ് ദ ബെസ്റ്റ് ഇംപ്രഷന്‍" എന്ന തത്വം ശരിയാണെങ്കില്‍ അങ്ങേര്‍ക്ക് എന്നെ കുറിച്ച് നല മതിപ്പായിക്കാണും.

എന്റെ കഷ്ട കാലം അവിടെ

ആരംഭിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു...

ഐ.ടി.മാനേജര്‍ എന്ന പേരും, കംപ്യൂട്ടറിന്റെ

മോണിറ്റര്‍ തുടക്കുന്ന പണിയും!!!

എങ്കിലും കിട്ടുന്ന ശമ്പളവും,

സമ്പാദിക്കണമെന്നുള്ള ആഗ്രഹവും എന്നെ അവിടെ പിടിച്ചു നിര്‍ത്തി.

അങ്ങനെയിരിക്കേ ഒരു ദിനം...

"എടാ നിന്നെ അറബി വിളിക്കുന്നു" ശേഖര്‍.

"എന്നാത്തിനാ?"

"ഈ കമ്പനി എഴുതി തരാനായിരിക്കും"

പോടാ പുല്ലേ!!!

റൂമില്‍ ചെന്നപ്പോള്‍ അറബി കാര്യം

അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു, മെയ്‌ന്‍ ഓഫ്ഫീസിലെ കംപ്യൂട്ടറില്‍  നിന്നും അറബിയുടെ

വീട്ടിലെ കംപ്യൂട്ടറിലേക്ക് ഒരു കണക്ഷന്‍ വേണമത്രേ. അതിനു ഞാനൊരു വയര്‍ വലിച്ച് കണക്ഷന്‍ കൊടുക്കണം പോലും.

യെസ് സാര്‍, ഐ വില്‍ ഡൂ.

തിരികെ ശേഖറിന്റെ അടുതെത്തിയപ്പോള്‍ അവന്‍

പറഞ്ഞു: "അറബിയുടെ വീടും ഈ ഓഫീസും തമ്മില്‍ നാല്‍പതു കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ദൂരമുണ്ട്"

കടവുളേ!!!

നാല്‍പതു കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വയറു വലിക്കാനോ??

തല കറങ്ങുന്നതു പോലെ തോന്നി, വീഴാതിരിക്കാന്‍

ശേഖറിന്റെ കയ്യില്‍ പിടിച്ചു. ബോധം വന്നപ്പോള്‍ തിരികെ ചെന്ന് സുരേഷ് ഗോപിയെ

മനസ്സില്‍ ധ്യാനിച്ച് ഞാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു:

"സാര്‍, ഇറ്റ് ഈസ് ഇംപോസിബ്‌ള്‍"

"നതിംഗ് ഈസ് ഇംപോസിബ്‌ള്‍" അറബി.

"ദെന്‍, ദിസ് ഈസ് നതിംഗ്" ഞാന്‍.

അതില്‍ ഞാന്‍ സ്കോര്‍ ചെയ്തു, എനിക്ക് നൂറു മാര്‍ക്ക്, അറബിക്ക് പൂജ്യം മാര്‍ക്.

അര മണിക്കൂറിനകം അറബി തിിച്ച് സ്കോര്‍ ചെയ്തു, എനിക്ക് എക്സിറ്റ് അടിച്ചു. അറബിക്ക് നൂറു മാര്‍ക്ക്, എനിക്ക് പൂജ്യം മാര്‍ക്ക്.

ഇന്നലെ  എന്റെ  പിറന്നാള്‍ ആയിരുന്നു, ചങ്ങാതിമാര്‍ അഞ്ചു പേരും രണ്ടു ദിവസം മുന്‍പുതന്നെ ആ കാര്യം എന്നെ ഓര്‍മിപ്പിച്ചു. എല്ലാര്ക്കും 'ചിലവ്'   വേണമെന്നു നിർബന്ധം അതും ലഞ്ച്.

ഇപ്പോൾ എനിക്ക് മാത്രമാണ് ജോലിയുള്ളത്, കീശ കാലിയായത് തന്നെ എന്തായാലും വേണ്ടിയില്ല എൻ്റെ കൂട്ടുകാര്‍ അല്ലെ അവര്‍ ഇന്ന് എന്തായാലും അവര്‍ക്ക് ചിലവു ചെയ്തിട്ട് തന്നെ കാര്യം ഞങ്ങള്‍ ആറുപേരും കൂടി നഗരത്തിലെ മുന്തിയ ഹോട്ടലില്‍ തന്നെ കയറി എല്ലാവര്ക്കും അവര്‍ക്ക് ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളത് ഓര്‍ഡര്‍ ചെയ്തു,

അവന്മാര്‍ക്ക് എന്തുമാകാമല്ലോ,  ഞാനാണ്‌ അവന്മാരുടെ ഇര, എൻ്റെ  കളസം കീറിയത് തന്നെ. നല്ല ആഹാരം,മാന്യമായി പെരുമാറുന്ന സപ്ലയര്‍. കഴിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ എല്ലാര്ക്കും സന്തോഷമായി 

ആഹാരം ഞങ്ങളുടെ പത്രങ്ങളിലേക്ക് വിളമ്പി തരുകയും നല്ല പെരുമാറ്റം- കാഴ്ചവെക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത സപ്ലയര്‍ക്ക് എന്തെങ്കിലും ടിപ്പ് കൊടുകണം. ബില്‍ കൊടുത്തതിന്റെ ബാക്കിയുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഇരുപത്തിരണ്ടു് രൂപ അയാള്‍ക്ക് ടിപ്പ് നല്‍ക്കി,

പൈസ കിട്ടിയ അയാളുടെ മുഖത്ത് സന്തോഷം, എന്നോട് അയാള്‍ നന്ദി പറഞ്ഞു. 

ഹോട്ടലിനു പുറത്തേക്കിറങ്ങിയ ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുന്‍പിലേക്ക് ഒരു ഭിക്ഷക്കാരന്‍ കൈനീട്ടി കടന്നു വന്നു. ഒരു വൃദ്ധന്‍, വെയില്‍ കൊണ്ടിട്ടാകണം അയാള്‍ നന്നേ ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരുന്നു  വിശപ്പ്‌ സഹിക്കാന്‍ വയ്യാത്രെ എന്റെ  കൈയില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന പേഴ്സ് തുറന്നു നോക്കി. എല്ലാം പത്തിന്റെയും അന്‍പതിന്റെയും നൂറിന്റെയും നോട്ടുകള്‍, ചില്ലറ തുട്ടുകള്‍ക്കായി ഞാന്‍ കീശയില്‍ പരാതി. രണ്ടു രൂപയുടെ ഒരു നാണയം കൈയില്‍ തടഞ്ഞു. ആകെയുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ആ രണ്ടു രൂപ നാണയം ഞാന്‍ അയാള്‍ക്ക് കൊടുത്തു 

പാവം!!ഞാന്‍ മനസ്സില്‍ കരുതി. നാണയതുട്ടു വാങ്ങി അയാളും എന്നോട് നന്ദി പറഞ്ഞു. ഞങ്ങള്‍ നടന്നു നീങ്ങി. 

ഇടക്ക് ഞാന്‍ തിരിഞ്ഞു നോക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അയാള്‍ ആ ഹോട്ടലിന്റെ മുന്‍വാതിലില്‍ ആഹാരം കഴിക്കാന്‍ പോകുന്നവരെയും കഴിച്ചിട്ട് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവരെയും കാത്തു നില്‍ക്കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു

രാവിലെ വീടിന്റെ വരാന്തയില്‍ പത്രം വായിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരുന്ന തലയില്‍ ആരോ തണുത്ത വെള്ളമോഴിച്ചു...

എൻ്റെ  വെപ്രാളം കണ്ടു പുറകില്‍ നിന്നു ചിരിച്ചതും വെള്ളമൊഴിച്ചതും എൻ്റെ  ഭാര്യയാണെന്നു  മനസിലായി. അന്റാര്‍ട്ടിക്കയില്‍  നഗ്നനായി പോയ പോലെ.. എൻ്റെ മൊട്ടത്തലയും, അരിചാക്ക് പോലുള്ള ശരീരവും തണുത്തു വിറക്കുന്നു

"എടീ പന്ന............"വിളിക്കാന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള്‍ ആണ് അവളുടെ അടുത്തു 'മൊബൈൽ' ക്യാമറയുമായി മകനെ കണ്ടത്. എൻ്റെ  തലയില്‍ തണുത്ത വെള്ളമോഴിക്കുന്നത് അവന്‍ ക്യാമറയില്‍ പിടിക്കുന്നു. ഭാവിയുള്ള ചെക്കനാണ്, ആരെങ്കിലും ഇനി എൻ്റെ  തല അടിച്ചു പോട്ടിക്കുന്നത് കണ്ടാല്‍ അതും അവന്‍ വീഡിയോ എടുക്കും അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ഒരു സെല്‍ഫിയെങ്കിലും  എടുക്കും പിന്നെ ഫേസ്ബുക്കിലോ യൂട്യൂബിലൊ, അതാ മുതല്.

"എന്തിനാടി നീ ഈ പണി കാണിച്ചത്‌?" എന്ന ചോദ്യത്തിനു  പത്നിയുടെ ഉത്തരം അവള്‍ക്കു ഈ വീഡിയോ ഫേസ്ബുക്കില്‍ പോസ്റ്റു ചെയ്യാന്‍ ആണ് പോലും. ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഇതാണത്രേ ഫേസ്ബുക്ക്‌ ട്രെണ്ട്.

 സുക്കാറും, ബില്‍ഗേറ്റ്സം, സാനിയയും തലയില്‍ ഐസ് വെള്ളം ഒഴിച്ച്  അത് ഫേസ്ബുക്കില്‍ പോസ്റ്റു ചെയ്തു. അത് കണ്ടിട്ടാണ്  ഭാര്യക്ക് ഇങ്ങനെ തോന്നിയത്, എന്നാല്‍ പിന്നെ നിനക്കു നിന്റെ  തലയില്‍ ഒഴിച്ച് കൂടാരുന്നോ എന്ന് ചോദിക്കാന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയതാണ് പക്ഷെ എന്റെ ആര്യോഗ്യം അതിനനുവദിച്ചില്ല.

പ്രവാസിയുടെ മകൾ

ഏഴു ദിവസത്തെ ക്വാറിന്റയിൻ കഴിഞ്ഞു വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോവുകയാണ്. ഞാൻ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന കാറിനു സ്പീഡ് തീരെ പോരാ എന്നു തോന്നിപ്പോയി. ഗൾഫിൽ നിന്നും ഞാൻ നാട്ടിൽ വന്നിട്ടു മൂന്ന് വർഷങ്ങൾ കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. എയർപോർട്ടിൽ ഇറങ്ങി ക്വാറിന്റിയിനിൽ ഇരിക്കാൻ വേണ്ടി ടൗണിൽ തന്നെയുള്ള ഹോട്ടലിൽ മുറി എടുത്തത്. ഏഴു ദിവസങ്ങൾ തള്ളി നീക്കിയത് എങ്ങനെയാണെന്നു എനിക്കു മാത്രമേ അറിയൂ. ടാക്സി ഡ്രൈവറോട് കാറിന്റെ സ്പീഡ് കൂട്ടാൻ പറഞ്ഞു. അയാൾ അയാളുടെ പ്രായത്തിന്റെ പക്വതാ കാരണം വളരെ പതുക്കെയാണ് വണ്ടി ഓടിക്കുന്നതെന്നു തോന്നി. 

ഞാൻ സ്പീഡ് കൂട്ടാൻ പറഞ്ഞതു അയാൾക്കു തീരെ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടില്ല. മാസ്ക് എടുക്കാതെ എന്നെ നോക്കി അയാൾ പരിഹാസത്തോടെ പറഞ്ഞു "ഇതു ഗൾഫ് അല്ല ഇവിടെ ഈ സ്പീഡു മാത്രമേ പറ്റു". ശരിയാണ് എന്റെ ഭാഗത്താണു തെറ്റ്! അയാൾ സാധാരണ സ്പീഡിൽ തന്നെയാണ് വണ്ടി ഓടിക്കുന്നത് പക്ഷെ എന്റെ മനസ്സുമുഴുവൻ വീട്ടിലേക്കു എത്രയും പെട്ടന്ന് തന്നെ എത്തിച്ചേരണം എന്നുമാത്രമേയൊള്ളു. എനിക്കു അയാളോട് കൂടുതൽ ഒന്നും പറയാൻ തോന്നിയില്ല. വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു ശേഷം വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോകുന്ന എന്റെ മനസ്സു മനസ്സിലാക്കാത്ത ദുഷ്ടനാണെന്നും, സൗഹൃദ സംഭാഷണങ്ങൾക്കു പോലും മടിക്കുന്ന പരുക്കനായ ഡ്രൈവറാണെന്നും എനിക്കു ചിലപ്പോൾ തോന്നിയതാകാം. കൂടുതൽ ആലോചിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതായിരിക്കാം നല്ലതു. ഇനി ഒന്നര മണിക്കൂർ എടുക്കും വീട്ടിലെത്തുവാൻ. അയാളോട് പ്രതേകിച്ചു ഒന്നും പറയാൻ ഇല്ലാത്തതു കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ കാറിന്റെ സീറ്റിലേക്ക് ചാരി കണ്ണുകൾ അടച്ചു കിടന്നു. കാറിലെ സ്റ്റീരിയോയിൽ ഏതോ പഴയ പാട്ടു ചെറിയ ശബ്ദത്തിൽ കേൾക്കാം. ഓർമകളെന്നെ പുറകോട്ടു കൊണ്ടു പോയി.

എന്നെ ഒരു പ്രവാസിയാക്കിയത് ജീവിതത്തിലെ ദാരിദ്ര്യവും കഷ്ടപ്പാടും പിന്നെ സ്വപ്ങ്ങൾക്കു പിറകെയുള്ള ഓട്ടവുമാണ്. ഏതൊരു മലയാളിയെയും പോലെ കുറച്ചു പൈസ ഉണ്ടാക്കണം, ഒരു ചെറിയവീട്, പിന്നെ ഒരു കുടുംബം. പക്ഷെ എല്ലാ പ്രവാസിയെയും പോലെ ഒൻപതു വർഷമായിട്ടും വലിയതായി സമ്പാദിക്കാൻ ഒന്നും പറ്റിയില്ല. ഗൾഫിൽ പോയി ആറു വർഷം കഴിഞ്ഞാണു ഞാൻ കല്യാണം കഴിച്ചത്. 'കല്യാണം' അതൊരു വലിയ കഥയാണ്, നാട്ടിൽ എത്തിയിട്ടു വെക്കേഷൻ അടിച്ചുപൊളിക്കേണ്ട ഞാൻ ഒന്നരമാസം 'പെണ്ണുകണ്ടു' നടന്നു. പെണ്ണുകാണലിനു കൂടെ വരുന്ന ബന്ധുക്കൾ അഭിപ്രായം പറഞ്ഞതു കൊണ്ടു ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട ഒട്ടുമിക്ക ബന്ധങ്ങളും വേണ്ടെന്നു വെച്ചു. അവസാനം എല്ലാര്ക്കും ഇഷ്ടപെട്ട ഒരു പെൺകുട്ടി ജീവിതത്തിലേക്കു കടന്നു വന്നു അതും ഗൾഫിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചു പോകുന്നതിനു ഒരാഴ്ചമുമ്പ്. രണ്ടു വർഷം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ എന്റെ വീട്ടിലെ സാഹചര്യങ്ങളോട് പൊരുത്തപ്പെടാൻ എനിക്കും ഭാര്യക്കും പറ്റാതെ വന്നപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങൾ ഒരു വാടകവീട്ടിലേക്കു മാറി. രണ്ടു വർഷത്തിൽ ഒരിക്കൽ നാട്ടിൽ വരുന്ന എനിക്കു ആ അവധിക്കാലം ഭാര്യയോടൊപ്പം വാടകവീട്ടിൽ തന്നെ ആഘോഷിക്കാൻ പറ്റി. രണ്ടുമാസത്തെ അവധി കഴിഞ്ഞു തിരിച്ചു ഗൾഫിലേക്കു തിരിച്ചുവരാൻ തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോഴാണ് അവൾ ആ സന്തോഷവാർത്ത എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞതു 'ഞാൻ ഒരു അച്ഛൻ ആകാൻ പോകുന്നു എന്നു' സന്തോഷവും അതിലേറെ സങ്കടവും തോന്നിയ നിമിഷം. ഇനി രണ്ടു വർഷം കഴിഞ്ഞു മാത്രമേ എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞിനെ കാണാൻ പറ്റൂ എന്നു ചിന്തിച്ചപ്പോൾ തിരിച്ചു ഗൾഫിലേക്കു പോകേണ്ട എന്നു തോന്നി പോയി. എന്റെ സാമ്പത്തിക സാഹചര്യം അനുകൂലമല്ലാത്തത് കൊണ്ടു പിന്നെയും ഞാൻ ഗൾഫിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചു പോവുക എന്ന കടുത്ത തീരുമാനം എടുക്കേണ്ടി വന്നു. 

പിന്നെ ഞാൻ ജീവിതം അടുത്തുകണ്ടതു മൊബൈലിൽ കൂടിയാണ്. എന്റെ മകളായ ദേവുവിന്റെ വളർച്ചയും പേരിടലും, ചോറൂണ് എല്ലാം ഒരു കാഴ്ചക്കാരനെ പോലെ കണ്ടുനിന്നു. അവൾ കരഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങിയ നാൾമുതൽ, മുട്ടിലിഴഞ്ഞതും, പിച്ചവച്ചതും, കൊച്ചരിപല്ലു കാട്ടിയുള്ള ചിരിയും, "ചാച്ചാ" എന്നുള്ള കൊഞ്ചി വിളിക്കുന്നതും സ്നേഹം നിറച്ച ഉമ്മകൾ തരുന്നതുമെല്ലാം ഞാൻ മൊബൈലിൽ നിറകണ്ണുകളോടെ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. എനിക്കേറ്റവും വേദന തോന്നിയിട്ടുള്ളത് നാട്ടിലേക്കു വിളിക്കുമ്പോൾ ചിലപ്പോൾ അവള് എന്തെങ്കിലുമൊക്കെ കഴിക്കുകയായിരിക്കും, എന്നെ കാണുമ്പോൾ അവൾ കഴിച്ചോണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതു എനിക്കു നേരെ നീട്ടും. ഞാൻ അതു വാങ്ങി കഴിക്കുന്നതായി അഭിനയിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവളുടെ മുഖത്തെ സന്തോഷം കാണണം. കുഞ്ഞിനിപ്പോൾ മൂന്നുവയസ്സായി, ഒരു പക്ഷെ ഭാര്യ രമയോടു സംസാരിച്ചത്തിലും കൂടുതൽ ഞാൻ മോളോടായിരിക്കും സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്, അതും ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് രണ്ടു പേർക്കും മനസ്സിലാവുന്ന ഭാഷയിൽ. 

അവളെ എടുക്കാനോ കൊഞ്ചിക്കാനോ എനിക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല. രണ്ടു വർഷം കഴിയുമ്പോൾ നാട്ടിൽ വരാനിരുന്നതാണ്, പക്ഷെ അപ്പോഴാണ് കൊറോണ എന്ന വ്യാധി എല്ലായിടത്തും പടർന്നു പിടിച്ചത്. എന്റെ വെക്കേഷനു സമയമായപ്പോൾ ഗൾഫ് കൺട്രീസ് എല്ലാം ട്രാവൽ ബാൻ ചെയ്തു. അതുകാരണം പിന്നെയും ഞാൻ വെക്കേഷന് ഒരു വർഷം കൂടി നീട്ടി. ഇന്നെന്റെ കുഞ്ഞിനെ താലോലിക്കാനും, ഉമ്മകൊടുക്കാനും, കഥപറഞ്ഞു ആഹാരം വാരി കൊടുക്കാനും, അവൾ കുഞ്ഞികൈ കൊണ്ടു തരുന്നത് കഴിക്കാനുമെല്ലാം പറ്റും. ഓർത്തിട്ടു സന്തോഷം അടക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നില്ല.

"ഇനി എങ്ങോട്ടാ പോകേണ്ടത്?" ഡ്രൈവറുടെ പരുക്കൻ ചോദ്യം കേട്ട് ഞാൻ ഞെട്ടിയുണർന്നു. എന്റെ ചിന്തകൾ കാരണം സമയം പോയതറിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല, റോഡിനിരുപ്പുറവുമുള്ള പുതിയ കാഴ്ചകളിലൊന്നും എനിക്കു കാണാനേ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല. എന്തു കാണാൻ? എല്ലാരും മാസ്കിലാണ് അതാണു ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ കാഴ്ച! ഒരു പുഞ്ചിരിയോടെ ഞാനോർത്തു. പ്രധാന കവലയെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു, ഡ്രൈവർക്ക്‌ ഞാൻ വഴി പറഞ്ഞു കൊടുത്തു. ഹോട്ടലിനു പുറപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ തന്നെ ഗൂഗിൾ മാപ്പു അയച്ചുകൊടുത്തത് മതിയായിരുന്നു. പക്ഷെ എന്റെ മനസ്സിലെ മറ്റു ചിന്തകളൊക്കെ അതിനൊന്നും അനുവദിച്ചില്ല. ഇപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വീടിനു അടുത്തുള്ള റോഡിലെത്തി. ഇനിയങ്ങോട്ടു ഒറ്റവരി പാതയാണ് അതുകൊണ്ടു വീട്ടിലിലേക്കു വണ്ടി പോവില്ല. കാറു നിർത്തി ഞാൻ സാധങ്ങൾ എല്ലാം എടുത്തു പുറത്തു വെച്ചു ഡ്രൈവർക്കു കാശുകൊടുത്തു അയാളെ പറഞ്ഞു വിട്ടു. ഇനി അടുത്ത അവധിക്കു നാട്ടിൽ വരുമ്പോൾ എയർപോർട്ടിൽ നിന്നും എനിക്കു വീട്ടിലേക്കു വരാൻ വീടിനു അടുത്തുള്ള ആരെയെങ്കിലും വിളിച്ചാൽ മതിയെന്നു മനസ്സിൽ കരുതി. കൊറോണ കാലമായതുകൊണ്ടു കുഞ്ഞിനുള്ള കളിപ്പാട്ടങ്ങളും ഭാര്യക്കുള്ള കുറച്ചു സാധനങ്ങളും മാത്രമേ വാങ്ങിയുള്ളു. എല്ലാ പ്രവിശ്യവും കൊണ്ടുവരാനുള്ള വലിയ പെട്ടികളൊന്നും തന്നെയില്ല എന്നൊരു സമാധാനമുണ്ട്. അവളും കുഞ്ഞും വീട്ടിൽ ഒറ്റയ്ക്കായതു കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ വരുമ്പോൾ റോഡിൽ വന്നു നിൽക്കേണ്ട എന്നു ഹോട്ടലിൽ നിന്നും യാത്ര തിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നെ പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. 

കയ്യിലുള്ള ആ ചെറിയ പെട്ടിയുമായി ഞാൻ വീട്ടിലേക്കു നടന്നു നീങ്ങി. ചുറ്റുപാടുകൾ ആകെ മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു വീടിനു മുൻപിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന റബർ തോട്ടമെല്ലാം വെട്ടി വെളിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. എനിക്കു ദൂരെനിന്നേ വാടകവീടിന്റെ മുൻവശം കാണാം. രമ വരാന്തയിൽ എന്നെ നോക്കി നിൽക്കുന്നു. മോൾ അടുത്തവീടുകളിലെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളുമായി മുറ്റത്തു കളിക്കുന്നു. വീട് അടുക്കുന്തോറും എന്റെ നടപ്പിന്റെയും ഹൃദയമിടിപ്പിന്റെയും വേഗം കൂടി. ഭാര്യയുടെ കണ്ണുകളിലെ തിളക്കവും സന്തോഷവും എനിക്കു അടുത്തു കാണാം. ഫോണിൽകൂടി കാണുന്നതുപോലെയല്ല അവൾ കുറച്ചു തടിച്ചു. ഞാൻ വീടിന്റെ മുൻപിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോഴേക്കും അവൾ മോളോടു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു "ദേവൂട്ടി ദേ ചാച്ചാ വരുന്നു" അതു കേട്ടതും കുഞ്ഞു അവൾ കളിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരുന്നിടത്തു നിന്നും എഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്നെ നോക്കി. പിന്നെയവൾ കയ്യിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന കളിപ്പാട്ടങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെ വലിച്ചെറിഞ്ഞു എന്റെ അടുത്തേക്ക് "ചാച്ചേ" എന്നു വിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ഓടിവരുന്നു. “ഓടാതെ പതിയെ പോ മോളെ" അവളുടെ അമ്മയുടെ വിലക്കുകൾ ഒന്നും കേട്ടതായി ഭാവിക്കാതെ ദേവുവിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞിക്കാലുകൾ എന്നിലേക്ക്‌ അടുക്കുന്നു. എന്റെ സർവ്വ നിയന്ത്രണവും വിട്ടുപോയി, കണ്ഠമിടറി, എന്റെ കൈകളിലിൽ നിന്നും സാധനങ്ങൾ താഴേക്കു വഴുതിവീണു. ഓടിവരുന്ന മോളെ കോരിയെടുക്കാനായി ഞാനും അവളുടെ അടുത്തേക്ക് ഓടി. സന്തോഷവും സങ്കടവും കാരണം എന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾ നിറഞ്ഞു മുൻപിലുള്ളതെല്ലാം അവ്യക്താമായിരുന്നു. പെട്ടന്നായിരുന്നു എന്റെ കാലുകൾ തറയിലുള്ള എന്തിലോ തട്ടി. കാലുകളുടെ ബാലൻസ് മുഴുവൻ പോയി ഞാൻ താഴേക്കു വീണു. ആ വീഴ്ചയിൽ തല ശക്തമായി തറയിൽ ഇടിച്ചു. തലകറങ്ങുന്നു, കാഴ്ച പൂർണമായും മങ്ങി, ബോധം മറഞ്ഞു. ആരോ വിളിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്! എനിക്ക് കണ്ണുതുറക്കാൻ ആഗ്രഹമുണ്ട് പക്ഷെ കഴിയുന്നില്ല. എന്റെ അടുത്തേക്ക് ഓടിവന്ന പൊന്നോമന എവിടെ? മഴപെയ്യുന്നുണ്ടോ? ആ അറിയില്ല! പക്ഷെ മുഖത്തു വെള്ളം വീഴുന്നുണ്ട്. അതെ മുഖത്തു ആരോ വെള്ളമൊഴിച്ചതാണ്. മുന്നിലുള്ള രൂപങ്ങൾ കുറേശേ തെളിഞ്ഞു വരുന്നു. മങ്ങിയ വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ ഹിന്ദിക്കാരൻ റൂം മേറ്റിന്റെ ദയനീയ മുഖം കണ്ടു. 

ഇതെങ്ങനെ നാട്ടിലെത്തിയ ഞാൻ എനിക്കു ചുറ്റും ഗൾഫിലുള്ള സുഹൃത്തുക്കൾ? ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ എന്റെ റൂമിലെ തറയിൽ കിടക്കുന്നു. എന്നെ ആരൊക്കയോ ചേർന്നു കട്ടിലിൽ കിടത്തി. ഇപ്പോഴെനിക്ക്‌ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ആളുകളുടെയും മുഖങ്ങൾ വ്യക്തമായി കാണാം, ക്യാമ്പിലെ മിക്കവരുമുണ്ട്. "ദോഡ പാനി പീലോ ഭായി" റൂംമേറ്റു വെള്ളവുമായി വന്നു. ഞാനതു വാങ്ങി കുടിച്ചു. "Dreams are graphical virtual entertainment". സ്വപ്‌നങ്ങൾ അങ്ങനെയാണ് ചിലപ്പോൾ നമ്മളെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കും, സങ്കടപെടുത്തും, മറ്റുചിലപ്പോൾ മനോഹര കാഴ്ചകൾ സമ്മാനിക്കും, ജീവിക്കാനുള്ള പ്രേരണ നൽകും. 

എൻ്റെ  വീഴ്ചയും അതിനെ തുടർന്നുണ്ടായ റൂമേറ്റിന്റെ പേടിച്ചുള്ള നിലവിളിയും അലർച്ചയും കേട്ടിട്ടാകണം അടുത്തുള്ള റൂമിലുള്ളവരെല്ലാം ഇപ്പോൾ ചുറ്റിനുമുണ്ട്. "എല്ലാരും പോയി കിടന്നോളു". അവിടെ നിന്നോവരോടായി ഫൈസലിക്കാ പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ ബെഡിൽ വന്നിരുന്നു. "നിനക്ക് വേദനയുണ്ടോ? താഴെ വീണതല്ലേ? തലയും ഇടിച്ചു അല്ലെ?. പോട്ടെ സാരമില്ല, നീ ഈ ബാം പുരട്ടു ഇല്ലെങ്കിൽ വേദന കൂടും" ഇക്ക ബാമിന്റെ കുപ്പി എനിക്ക് തന്നു. ഞാൻ കുറച്ചു ബാം എടുത്തു നെറ്റിയിലും കയ്യിലും പുരട്ടി. "ഇപ്പോൾ വേദന കുറവുണ്ട്" ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു. വെക്കേഷനു നാട്ടിൽ പോയതും ഭാര്യയെയും മകളേയും സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ കണ്ടതും ഞാൻ ഇക്കയോട് പറഞ്ഞു. കേട്ടുകഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ഇക്കയെന്റെ കയ്യിൽ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു "മൂന്നുവര്ഷമായില്ലേ നീ നാട്ടിൽ പോയിട്ട് ? ചിലപ്പോൾ അങ്ങനെയാണ് യാഥാർഥ്യങ്ങൾ അംഗീകരിക്കാൻ പറ്റാതെ വരുമ്പോൾ മനസ്സിനുണ്ടാവുന്ന അവസ്ഥായാണിത്, സാരമില്ല."

How to install backbox linux in virtualbox

BackBox Ubuntu-

BackBox is not just an OS, but also known to be a great tool for penetration testers. It is fully Ubuntu based but has a greater interface and has more number of tools.  As BackBox is a Linux distribution , which is specially based on pen-testing and Security Assessment. To know more about this Open Source Linux Distro you can visit the BackBox official site from here.
In this post, I will teach you how to install BackBox Linux and how to do its basic Config (on next post). There are 2 ways to install an OS. One is by installing as your main OS, and another method is by installing it on a Virtual Machine. I will recommend to you to use Virtual Machine as there are low chances of any risk with your hardware, as well as with your software. As BackBox is mainly for Penetration Testing, I would recommend you to use it on a Virtual machine, unless you have a mid-high end PC (with At least 4 GB RAM and a Quad Core CPU is Minimum requirement according to me). If you don’t have a mid-high end PC, then you may go for installing directly on hardware.

In this section, I will show how to install Backbox on VM(Virtual Machine). So to go ahead following the steps below:

First, you need to download the BackBox ISO file. You can download the latest version directly from https://backbox.org/download. If you are using a 32-bit machine, then download the BackBox Linux 4.6 – i386 .Or else download the BackBox Linux 4.6 – amd64.
(Note: In this post I will be using the 64-bit version.But don’t worry as the process of installation is same for both)

For running Virtual Machine, I will be using Virtualbox which is a great free tool.But you can also use VM-Ware or Hyper VM(in Windows 10 only). The process will almost same for all programs, but if you find any huge difference, then you can comment below so that we can send you the suitable tutorial and don’t worry we will be quick in our work.

You don’t need to download Hyper VM in windows 10 ,as it comes inbuilt with windows 10. And for Installing it, I am pretty sure that you can do that yourself. So follow the steps below after you have installed and configured your Virtualbox. Read the Virtualbox Documentation for more help.

Now to add new Virtual machine (your black-box) on virtual Machine click on “new”.And type the VM name you want to use. Then click on “next”.

Now choose the amount of RAM you want to use in your VM and click “next”. Never choose more than half RAM you have. For BackBox 2GB will be enough.

Now in the hard disk section, check on “Create a virtual hard disk now”. (Note: If you have never used any virtual machine section, check then strictly follow me for now. Later you will get to know the function of each option).

In the next window check on “VDI”. Then on next check on “Dynamically Allocated”, which will increase your VM hard disk accordingly, when it the storage will get full.

Next in the File Location and Size section, choose the size of your VDI (You Virtual Hard disk). 10GB is enough here. After that click “create”.Now you have successfully added BackBox VM to Virtual Machine. But before running you need to do some settings.

So click on settings

Do exactly the same settings as in Screenshots and in Storage section, locate your Downloaded ISO file in “Optical drive”.

Settings are done.Now click “ok”.

Now the VM is ready to start. So select your VM on Virtualbox menu, and click on “Start”. Then your Backbox Live will start. You can test Backbox on the live mode too. But you need to install it to get all its features. So, click on “Install BackBox Linux” in the Desktop menu to start the installer.

After completing those steps installation will start. At this moment, you should be patient as it will take time depending on your hardware and internet speed.

After the setup has finished, it will prompt a window, where you have to choose “Restart now”. After restart, you will have to enter the password and login

Congrats!! You have successfully installed BackBox VM.

(Note:As you can see that you are not able to navigate properly in the machine and screen size is too small, so there you need to install the Virtualbox guest addition, which installs necessary tools and driver in a OS to make run properly on Virtualbox.)

Error message comimg form Maximizer Clients Systems

The problem is very likely to be caused by incorrect initialization of the instance Microsoft SQL server that is installed when you installed Maximizer. If you have the option in the Administrator to repair database this may resolve the problem but you may not be able to get into this menu due to the problems you are experiencing. The simplest solution will probably be to remove both Maximizer and the SQL cleaning up the machine (check for other SQL instances). Then re-install allowing Maximizer to perform a clean and correct SQL installation.

Basically Authentication Header protects IP header and provides the complete authenticity to the IP packets.AH may work in two ways: transport mode and tunnel mode.

In tunnel mode; Authentication Header protects the IP header using two IP header layers inner and outer. The inner IP header is used to contain the source and destination addresses, and the outer IP header is used to contain the security gateway information.

Q: - if We have to generate a hash function then what characteristics are needed in a secure hash function?.

• A secure hash function should have the following characteristics:
• The output generated by a hash function should be of a fixed length. 
• It should be very easy to find out a hash function for a given message. 
• If a hash value is given of a message than it is almost impossible to get that message. 
• The two different messages should not have the same hash value; it is against the hash function property. 

For authentication: One can encrypt the hash (MD4/SHA) of the data with a private key. This is known as a digital signature.
To prevent DoS attacks firewall can be configured as a relay; in this approach the firewall responds on behalf of the internal host. During the attack, the firewall responds to the SYN sent by the attacker; since the ACK never arrives, the firewall terminates the connection. By Keeping protocols and Antivirus software up-to-date, we can prevent being a victim of DoS. A regular scanning of the machine is also necessary in order to detect any anomalous behavior.

Encoding: Basically encoding is used to protect the integrity of data as it crosses through a communication network to keep its original message upon arriving. It is primarily an insecure function because it is easily reversible.

Hashing: With hashing the operation is one-way i.e. non-reversible. It takes an input (or , message ) and returns a fixed-size string, which is called the hash value.

Error in Excel 2007 : "There was a problem sending the command to the program"

If you have ever tried to open an excel document and received the error that says "There was a problem sending the command to the program", you can fix it by doing the following:

1. Open Excel 2007

2. Open the Menu on the top left

3. Click the "Excel Options" button

4. Click the advanced tab on the left of the options screen

5. Under the general options un-check the box "Ignore other application that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)"

How to Bridge an Internet Connection

Wireless has taken a huge leap in usage thanks to a huge improvement in its usability over the years. That's good for many portable devices such as laptops, smart phones, etc. But for people using desktops, a wireless adapter may not be included. Or, you may want to have a more stable wireless connection than the one you currently have.

Bridging an internet connection refers to making connections between different ports that will be used by your computer, such as Ethernet and wireless. Shown in this article are simple steps that you can use to create your own bridged connection.

1 ) Make sure the relevant machines and crossover cable are working. 
To see if the cable is working, plug it into both machines. If the port lights up, then you know that it works. If it does not light up, the cord is not in working order.

2) Get started. 
On both machines, go the the start menu, open the control panel and go to "Network and Internet". The Local Area Connection (LAN) should show up with no internet access in the window.

3) Create the bridge on the host machine.
Go to "Change adapter settings" on the left pane on the host machine. Two or more connections should show up. Highlight both Local Area Connection and Wireless Network Connection. Right click one of the icons you highlighted and an options menu should come up with only "Bridge Connection". Click it and it should take a second to set up the connection.


The bridge is already working? Some machine cards will automatically assign the needed network information for you. If it does, an icon on the client machine's task bar will show up with a monitor and a fork like plug showing beside it. If the icon has a caution sign, it means that the information needs to be assigned manually.

4) Do error checking. 

A new icon should show up in the window called "Network Bridge" and it should display the name of the wireless network you are connected to below "Network Bridge". If not, repeat step 3 to remove the bridge and restart the process.

5) Access the command line. 

Still on the host machine, open the start menu and in the search bar type "CMD". Open Notepad and be prepared to write down your network information.

6) Get the machine's network information. 

In the CMD window, type "ipconfig /all". A large list of information should show up. Scroll to the top and look for "Ethernet adapter Network Bridge:", copy the IPv4 Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and the DNS Servers


7) Perform a client machine setup. 
On the client machine, click on "Local Area Connection". A window should pop up called "Local Area Connection Status"; select Properties, and in that window double click "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)".

8) Enter the IP information. 

To enter the network information, select "Use the following IP Address". Now the three bars should be lit up. In the IP address row, enter the IPv4  address of the host machine, and  in the last section of numbers increase it by  1.

Example: 192.168.1.179 becomes 192.168.1.180. The Subnet Mask is the same as what was copied as with the Default Gateway.

9) Check the DNS servers. 

The DNS servers will also be changed to what was copied down from the host machine's network information. For the first row, enter the information as it was from the Host, and in the second row put in the same number but increase the last number by 1.

Example: 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2.

10) Finalize the connection.  

Click the box about Validating Settings upon exit and click OK. It will take a second to validate but the connection should start working a few seconds after clicking OK. Your new connection should be working now.

Error: Windows Explorer has stopped working

1) Run System File Checker (CFS) to check yours Files

Use System File Checker to scan your PC for missing or corrupt files. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, and then type cmd in the Search box.2. In the results area, right-click cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator. You may be prompted to type the password for an administrator account.
3. Click Continue if you are the administrator or type the administrator password and then, click Continue.
4. At the command prompt, type Sfc /scannow and then press ENTER.

2) Test your system's RAM memory

Sometimes Faulty RAM (Random-Access Memory) can cause intermittent problems within Windows. Use the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool by clicking Start, type Memory Diagnostics and select the result in the list. When the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool window appears, choose Restart now and check for problems (recommended).

3) Test for picture files that may contain Corruption

Corrupt images can sometimes issues with Windows Explorer. If Windows Explorer stops working while working with pictures or browsing folders that contain pictures, there may be corruption is one or more picture files. To test for this issue, follow the steps below:

1. Click Start and click Computer
2. Click Organize and select Folder and search options from the dropdown

3. On the Folder Options window, click the View tab
4. Place a check in the option to Always show Icons, never thumbnail
5. Remove the check for the option to Display file icon on thumbnails
6. Click OK to close the Folder Options window

Now, go to any folders that contain Pictures or Videos and see if you can reproduce the issue. If Windows Explorer does stop working, the folder that you were viewing possibly contains one or more pictures files that are corrupt or contain corrupted thumbnail data.

Note: After adjusting the options to Display file icon on thumbnails, and Always show Icons, never thumbnail, files no longer display thumbnails so pictures and other files will display as the default icon for their file types. If you can reproduce the error with these options set, the issue is not with pictures or videos and you should return the Folder options to their original settings.

Check the details of the error to see which application caused Windows Explorer to stop working. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start and type Action Center in the Search area and click Action Center from the returned list
2. In the Action Center window, click Maintenance, click View reliability history 

     and then click View all  problem reportsfrom the bottom of the Reliability Monitor window
3. Scroll down to the list of Windows Explorer items
4. Double-click on Stopped working to view technical details and then make a note of the technical details.

Method 1: 

Delete the Desktop.ini File

1. Start Windows Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the View tab.
3. In the Advanced settings box, click to clear the Hide extensions for known file types checkbox and the Hide protected operating system files checkbox (if they are not already cleared), and then click OK.
4. Delete any occurrences of the Desktop.ini file that contains the lines described earlier in the "Symptoms" section of this article. To do so:

Locate each of the following folders, right-click the Desktop.ini file (if the file exists in that folder), and then click Open:

• drive:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
• drive:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs
• drive:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu 

Where drive is the drive on which Windows is installed.

Verify that the file contains the following lines:

• [.ShellClassInfo] LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21787
• If the file contains these lines, right-click the file, click Delete, and then click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the deletion.
• Restart your computer and verify that the issue is resolved. 

Method 2: 

Use the System Configuration Utility (Msconfig.exe) to Disable the Startup Item

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type msconfig, and then click OK.
3. Click the Startup tab.
4. Click to clear the checkbox beside any desktop entries in the Startup Item column that are listed as Common Startup in the Location column, and are also located in any of the following locations (as indicated in the Command column):

• drive:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
• drive:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs
• drive:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu

Click OK to quit the System Configuration Utility.
Restart your computer and verify that the issue is resolved.

Flamer malware targeting individuals in Middle East and Eastern Europe

A major new cyber attack that targets users in the Middle East and Eastern Europe has been uncovered by security researchers in the past few days.

The ‘Win32.Flame' or ‘W32.Flamer' attack shows high levels of complexity, and appears to be engineered to conduct espionage, early reports show.

Researchers say the code for the attack is highly complex, with up to 100 times more code than an average financial malware, is a large file size at 20MB, and is modular in nature, suggesting it may have been developed by several different coders and allowing it to be updated and amended to change tactics.

Unlike previous high profile attacks against the region such as Stuxnet and Duqu, that attacked industrial sites, Flamer appears to have been targeting individuals rather than organisations.

The malware has been detected in the Palestinian West Bank, Hungary, Iran, Lebanon, Russia, Austria, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates, although specific targets have not been fully identified. It is also unclear how many systems may have been infected.

Flamer has a payload that would strongly suggest its use for espionage, as it is able to steal documents, take screenshots of users' desktops, spread via USB drives, disable security vendor products, turn on PC microphones, turn on Bluetooth, intercept network traffic and spread to other systems under certain conditions. The threat may also have the ability to leverage multiple known and patched vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows, in order to spread across a network.

Security companies including Symantec have been able to block Flamer after identifying some of its component parts.

The code for Flamer references another emerging malware threat, codenamed ‘Wiper', because it can wipe data from hard drives, which Iran's National Computer Emergency Response Team confirmed was used to attack Iranian oil plants in April. However, there is no hard evidence linking Flamer to Stuxnet or Duqu.

Researchers believe that Flamer has been active for at least two years, and possibly as many as five years.

The complexity of the code, which uses 20 times more code than Stuxnet, and its modular nature, suggests that it may have been developed over time by several different groups, and the volume of code may indicate that it is an early generation malware. Symantec said in a security alert that "this code was not written by a single individual but by an organised well funded group of personnel with directives."

Alexander Gostev, chief security expert at Kaspersky Lab, commented: "The preliminary findings of the research, conducted upon an urgent request from ITU, confirm the highly targeted nature of this malicious program. One of the most alarming facts is that the Flame cyber-attack campaign is currently in its active phase, and its operator is consistently surveilling infected systems, collecting information and targeting new systems to accomplish its unknown goals."
